Court Use Policies
These policies and rules are intended to: a) maintaining our courts in good condition; b) provide fair access to courts and; c) to promote enjoyable playing opportunities for members and other players.
PROGRAMS, EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES
PLEASE NOTE THAT TENNIS MONCTON ORGANIZED PROGRAMS, EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES HAVE PRIORITY OVER INDIVIDUAL PLAY. Tennis Moncton will make every effort to allocate courts for individual play at all times. Occasionally, tournaments and other events will make all courts unavailable. We will make every effort to inform our members of scheduled events well in advance.
COURT RESERVATION AND ACCESS RULES
- Only members may reserve courts, using the online web platform.
- Non-members are welcome to use the courts, subject to fee requirements, but members with a reservation have priority.
- Courts can be booked up to 7 days in advance.
- Members are expect to cancel as soon as possible any bookings they will not use. No-shows may be recorded and addressed.
- A reservation is forfeited if players do not arrive at their court within 10 minutes of their start time.
- One member can reserve a court for solo, singles or doubles play but they are expected to provide the names of all the other players (both members and non-members) when booking or as the other players’ names are known.
- Reservations can be made in ½ hour increments.
- Members can be named on up to 2 bookings per day. Can be any combination of solo, singles, doubles or private lessons.
- A solo or singles booking can be for up to 1 hour. A doubles booking can be for up to 2 hours.
- A member can make consecutive bookings (e.g., 2 back-to-back singles bookings), subject to daily reservation limits and Peak Period rules.
- During Peak Periods (4 pm - 8 pm on Monday to Thursday; red text in the booking grid), players cannot book more than once, either max 1 hour singles, 2 hr doubles.
- Private lesson court bookings count towards the players(s) daily limit.
- A player may continue to play after their booking limits are reached, as long as there are unreserved courts available. Clubhouse staff can assist to allow for extended daily play.
- Players are expected to leave their court when their booking time ends. It is not fair to the next group to continue playing or be gathering up gear once your reserved time ends. However, players are welcome to continue play if their court is not booked for the next period and nobody is waiting to use the court. Common respect should prevail.
- Tennis Moncton reserves the right to re-assign reserved courts due to operational requirements.
Mini courts may be booked and these reservations do not count towards the daily limit.
Once a court is booked, a member may also reserve a ball machine and pay the required fee.
Please Note: These rules are intended to provide fair and reasonable access to our courts and members are expected to adhere to this intent. Tennis Moncton will strive to address instances where our intent is not respected
